#1 After I have installed KIPI on my device, why am I asked to input a nickname?
You can use KIPI immediately after it has been installed on your device without any additional registration process. Since personal information is not sent to the KIPI server, a nickname is required to identify yourself and other KIPI users in order to communicate. All corresponding information will be secured, in which only you can modify at any time.
#2 How can I exchange contact information with one another?
Contact information can be exchanged in 5 different methods. The first 4 methods are accomplished by direct exchange of information, while the last method entails a system that uses a sub-direct exchange of information through a third party.
KIPI ID : Your KIPI ID can be directly given to other KIPI users of your choice and register them on the “Setting” tab mode.
QR-CODE: QR-CODE can be exchanged between two users when at the same place. One can generate a QR-CODE from the KIPI app for the other user. The other user can then capture the code to their device using the QR-CODE reader (camera).
NFC: If network is unavailable (in an airplane, etc.), the NFC function can be used if your smart phone supports it to register both parties.
Friends via WIFI: If connected multi-parties are in same Wifi Access Point, this function can be used to exchange contact information.
Share Connect: IF user A and B do not have each other’s contact information, but user C has both of theirs, then user C can transfer user A’s contact information to user B and vice versa. This method will be accomplished by pressing the contact information of user A and B until it triggers a menu bar that shows the share function icon.
#3 What is a KIPI ID?
KIPI ID is created in order to identify each unique user. These IDs allows you to easily find and contact other users and vice versa. You can register these IDs in the settings tab as well as modify or delete it. Once a KIPI ID is deleted, both parties will have to re-register their contact information in order to communicate again.
#4 What will happen if a contact is deleted of my list?
KIPI’s main philosophy is to keep your privacy secured. Therefore, the user has options to communicate with other KIPI users of their choice as well as delete them using our system. If a contact ID is deleted from the communication tool on your device, then your contact ID will also be deleted from the opposing user’s contact list. If a contact ID is deleted by accident, both users would have to exchange their contact IDs once again on their KIPI app.
#5 What will happen if I delete the KIPI app from my device?
The core technological purpose of the patented KIPI app is to maintain the ID granting technic within its network. Once the software connects to the network, it grants the user an ID of their choice. However, if the user decides to delete the KIPI app, then the history of phone calls, texts, and all other contents will be vanished. If the user decides the reinstall the KIPI app again on the same device, a new ID needs to be made. If the previously used KIPI app was a paid version and the user wishes to reinstall the paid version again, the app needs to be repurchased due to the deletion of the user’s payment information.
#6 I bought a new smartphone, how can I move KIPI Contacts to new smartphone?
If you buy a new smartphone, you could use 'KIPI Information Move' function(Pay, KIPI Pro users are free to use). Run KIPI on old and new smartphones and select 'Setting>Contacts move via Bluetooth' and then follow instruction. This feature moves all of your KIPI information to a new smartphone.
#7 Can a message be deleted once it has been sent?
One of KIPI’s ultimate goals is to have its users ensure full control of their personal information. Thus, a message that has already been sent can be deleted by the sender. The same goes with contacts, messages, and KIPI IDs.
#8 How long will my messages remain in the server?
KIPI enables messages to bypass the server and directly connects both parties, thus, no record is stored.
#9 If I am under a 3G network environment, how will this affect the quality of my KIPI calls?
KIPI is constantly developing to provide the most optimum usage to our users. Not only is our connection systems patented, but we are also advancing in technological matters such as compression algorithm, noise cancelling (NR), voice activity detection, etc. Therefore, we have technology to enable our users to communicate in high quality conditions in low frequency zone like that of 3G network.
#10 Can I install it on my old smart phone that’s laying around the house?
After installing KIPI, there is no need for certification procedures so you will be able to use an old smart phone that’s not in service. Once connected to Wi-Fi, even without a sim card, you will be able to use the smart phone like a home phone, without the extra fees.
#11 Why is the call connection better using Wi-Fi and not so fast using LTE?
Depending on your wireless carrier, the LTE data upload speed has been purposely reduced. For example, MVNOs of a South Korean wireless carrier have made their LTE download speeds fast enough, but greatly reduced their upload speed. In such circumstances, please contact your wireless carrier for more information.
#12 KIPI on my friend's phone provides great quality call, but why my KIPI does not support it?
In the case of Android smartphones might be manufactured without following the standard Google Android OS guide line. For example, Samsung Electronics Galaxy series are representative products. Those kind of smartphones could not be supported good quality call by KIPI.
#13 What is reason that I'm always shown as offline on firiend's KIPI?
The 'Sleep Mode' operation of some Android smart phone has a problem. In particular, Samsung Galaxy series running at sleep mode, it may Wifi is not Working. In this case, you must change the smart phone settings. Go to Setting Menu 'Wi-Fi > More (Detail Settings) > Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep' and then select 'Always'. In other case, antivirus app, such as 360 Booster, may stop running the KIPI. In this case, please set the KIPI as an exception in the 'Settings' menu of the antivirus app.
